Todd has been teaching social and competitive dance since 1985.  A musician, fascinated by the wealth of world cultures, he has always taken opportunities to study indigenous styles of music and dance in his desire to keep contemporary Latin, Swing,and Ballroom dance true to its roots.

In February of 2003, Todd traveled to Havana, Cuba, to complete a course in Cuban popular dance, bringing home a fresh approach to salsa, cha cha, rumba, and mambo.  Also a devotee of the Argentine Tango, his classes are helping to popularize this intriguing dance style in Tennessee.

Todd and Alisa Peterman competed in the professional American Ballroom category from 1991 to 1998, making final rounds at prestigious events such as the International Grand Ball in San Francisco, the Mid-US Tournament in San Antonio, and the Southeastern States in Palm Beach, Florida.  They returned briefly to pro competition in 2001, taking first place in International Standard at the Music City Invitational.  In 2004, Todd received Top Teacher honors at the Atlanta Open and the Hawaii Star Ball.

Todd's credentials include Fellowship Standing (Highly Commended) from the United States Terpsichore Association in both American and International styles.  He is a competition adjudicator, registered with the National Dance Council of America.

Having retired from professional competition, Todd now concentrates on teaching and Pro/Am competition, and is available for coaching, choreography, judging, lectures, interviews, demonstrations, and shows.
